How to change ink cartridge Epson XP-830 printer

When an ink cartridge is expended, you need to replace it. Make sure you have your replacement cartridges handy before you begin. You must install new cartridges immediately after removing the old ones.

  1. Make sure that the CD/DVD tray is not inserted for printing.
  2. Turn on your printer.
  3. Lift up the scanner unit.
  4. Push in the blue tab to unlock the ink cartridge you are replacing. Then lift the bottom of the ink cartridge to remove it.
  5. Recap the used ink cartridge using the cap that came with it.
  6. If you are replacing the Black (BK) ink cartridge, shake the new cartridge gently four or five times before unwrapping it. You do not need to shake the Photo Black cartridge or any of the other color ink cartridges.
  7. Remove the cartridge from the package.
  8. Insert the ink cartridge head first into the ink cartridge holder. Then press the bottom of the ink cartridge down until it clicks into place.
  9. Once you replace all the cartridges that need replacing, close the scanner unit.

The printer starts charging the ink. This takes a few minutes. When you see a completion message on the LCD screen, ink replacement is complete.

Scanning using Epson XP-830 printer

You can scan original documents or photos and save them as digital files.

  1. Make sure you installed the printer's software and connected the printer to your computer or network.
  2. Press the home button, if necessary.
  3. Select Scan
  4. Scroll down to view additional scan options, then select the one you want
  5. To scan to your computer, select how you connected your product to your computer.
  6. Press the Start button to start scanning.

Sending faxes using Epson XP-830 printer

You must connect your printer to a telephone wall jack to send or receive faxes. If you want to use the same telephone line to receive calls, you can connect a telephone or answering machine to your printer using an additional phone cable.

  1. Place your original on the product for faxing.
  2. Press the home button, if necessary.
  3. Select Fax.
  4. Do one of the following: 1) Select the Enter Fax Number area on the LCD display, then use the numeric keypad to enter the fax number. 2) Select Redial to redial the last dialed fax number.
  5. If you need to change any fax settings, scroll down and select your settings.
  6. Press the Start button. If prompted, select where you placed your document (ADF or scanner glass).

After scanning your originals, your product dials the number and sends the fax.

Recovery Mode Firmware Epson XP-830 printer

  • This firmware update should only be used if your printer's control panel displays a recovery mode error.
  • A USB cable is required.
  • Make sure no other USB devices are connected to the computer during the update process.
  • Do not unplug, power-off or attempt to use the printer during the update process.
  • This update may take up to 15 minutes to complete.
