How to change the ink cartridges HP ENVY 6055e printer

  1. Check that power is on.
  2. Remove the old cartridge: 1) Open the cartridge access door. 2) Open the latch on the cartridge slot. And then remove the cartridge from the slot.
  3. Insert a new cartridge: 1) Insert a new cartridge. 2) Remove plastic tape using the pull tab.
  4. Slide the new cartridge in the slot and close the latch until it clicks.
  5. Close the cartridge access door.

To protect the cartridges from drying out, always turn the printer off using the Power button.
Do not open or untape cartridges until you are ready to install them. Leaving tape on the cartridges reduces ink evaporation.
Insert the cartridges into the correct slots. Match the color of each cartridge to the color of the cartridge latch. Make sure the cartridges snap into place.
If you remove a cartridge from the printer for any reason, try to replace it again as soon as possible. If a cartridge is left unprotected outside the printer, its nozzles might dry out and clog up.
Cartridges can be left in the printer for extended periods of time. However, to assure optimal cartridge health, be sure to turn off the printer properly when the printer is not in use.

If a printer update is available, the printer downloads and installs the update, and then restarts.
