How to change the ink cartridge HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e printer

This printer is designed for ink cartridges to be used until they are empty. Refilling cartridges prior to depletion might cause your printer to fail. If this happens, insert a new cartridge (either genuine HP or compatible) to continue printing. Replace the toner cartridge if you receive a message on the printer.

  1. Make sure the printer is turned on.
  2. Open the front door.
  3. Open the cartridge access door. Wait until the print carriage stops moving before proceeding.
  4. Press the front of the cartridge to release it, and then remove it from the slot.
  5. Remove the new cartridge from its packaging.
  6. Using the color-coded letters for help, slide the cartridge into the empty slot until it is securely installed in the slot. Make sure that the color-coded letter on the cartridge matches that on the slot.
  7. Repeat steps 3 through 5 for each cartridge you are replacing.
  8. Close the cartridge access door.
  9. Close the front door.

How to check HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e printer ink levels

You can check the estimated ink levels from the printer software or from the printer control panel.

To check the estimated ink levels from HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e printer control panel

From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch (Ink) to check the estimated ink levels. Ink level alerts and indicators provide estimates for planning purposes only. When you receive a lowink alert, consider having a replacement cartridge available to avoid possible printing delays. You do not have to replace the cartridges until prompted to do so. Ink from the cartridges is used in the printing process in a number of different ways, including in the initialization process, which prepares the printer and cartridges for printing, and in printhead servicing, which keeps print nozzles clear and ink flowing smoothly. In addition, some residual ink is left in the cartridge after it is used.
