Precision ink drop control for outstanding clarity and sharpness. Extreme accuracy: variable size droplets as small as 3.5 picoliters. Designed to last the life of the printer: print head is not a consumable. Ink repelling coating reduces the chance of a nozzle clog.

Install Epson SureColor T5170 Ink Cartridges

  1. Connect the power cord to the printer. Route the cord through the hooks on the back of the printer and plug the other end of the power cord into an outlet.
  2. Press the power button on the control panel to turn on the printer. Raise the control panel if necessary.
  3. Select your language on the LCD screen.
  4. When you see a message about removing protective parts, select Done.
  5. Select the date and time.
  6. Follow the prompts to begin ink initialization.
  7. Open the front cover.
  8. Pull and lift the tab on the ink cartridge cover to open the cover. Remove the protective paper covering the ink ports.
  9. Gently shake one of the ink cartridges for about 10 seconds, then remove it from its packaging.
  10. Remove the yellow tape from the cartridge.
  11. Insert the cartridge into the holder for the corresponding color and push it down firmly
  12. Repeat steps 9 to 11 for the remaining ink cartridges.
  13. Close the ink cartridge cover and the front cover.
  14. The printer starts initializing the ink. This takes about 18 minutes. The home screen appears when charging is complete.

Update Epson SureColor T5170 Firmware

If your printer is connected to the Internet, you can update the product firmware using Web Config.

  1. Access Web Config and select Device Management - Firmware Update.
  2. Click Start to check for the latest firmware.
  3. If there is a firmware update, click Start to begin the update.
